Job Description

We are currently seeking a HR Business Partner to join our Human Resources Department.

This individual will be responsible for providing strategic and operational HR services and initiatives to the Southeast Region in alignment with corporate, regional, and departmental business objectives. This position will drive positive impact in the following HR functional areas: workforce planning, employee/team relations, leadership guidance and coaching, performance management, compliance, compensation, talent acquisition/onboarding support, and employee communications.

A successful candidate will possess an energetic, driven personality with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, excellent business acumen, strong HR expertise, ability to successfully handle multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines. Must be able to work independently and as a collaborative team member across HR and other departments.

Duties

  • Partner with Division Directors and regional leaders to understand strategic and operational objectives. Recommend, develop, and implement Human Resources initiatives, procedures, and policies to ensure alignment with corporate, regional, and departmental objectives and compliance with employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Interpret and reinforce consistent compliance with company policies and procedures, while identifying solutions to daily operations challenges and needs.
  • Ensures regulatory compliance in all aspects of human resources support including recruitment, performance management, terminations, training, etc.
  • Provides counsel and guidance on the development of employee related programs and initiatives that consider employee needs as well as the needs of the business/department.
  • Act as a liaison with various corporate HR functions (i.e., Benefits, Recruiting/Onboarding, Learning & Development), to ensure execution of regional priorities while balancing consistency with corporate objectives.
  • Coaches, counsels, and provides support/facilitation for employees and management in problem solving situations regarding employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and performance concerns.
  • Manages offboarding and exit process/interviews for departing employees.
  • Conduct employee investigations and develop solutions to complex issues in coordination with Corporate HR Director and in compliance with corporate and regulatory guidelines.
  • Assists with the development of employee engagement initiatives and priorities with respective regional and divisional leaders to drive high levels of engagement and retention.
  • Approximately 10-25% travel will be required to LaBella sites mostly within the Southeast region and Corporate headquarters in Rochester, NY.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources manager or generalist experience
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required, with the ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization, gaining trust and credibility.
  • Understanding of US and state employment laws and regulations, and demonstrated ability and willingness to stay on top of the dynamic legal and regulatory environment.
  • Ability to balance strategic work with tactical/operational tasks.
  • Experience at a professional services firm (Architecture, Engineering, Accounting, Law) a plus
  • Experience successfully supporting HR functions in a high volume, large employer, federal contractor, and/or multi-state/multi-site work environment preferred
  • A SPHR or PHR designation is a plus
