How you will create an impact

  • Manage a claims team handling broker dealer claims, including direct handling of claims as needed.
  • Train and develop claims adjusters in all areas of claims handling, including investigation, coverage, litigation management, evaluation, reserving and negotiation.
  • Assure compliance with Best Practices and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Keep abreast of litigation trends and regulatory updates effecting professional liability.
  • Make presentations to senior management on high severity or complex matters and trends.
  • Analyze claims trends and statistics to assist the business in proactively managing risks and exposures.
  • Work closely with Underwriting counterparts in risk analysis and account meetings.

What you will need to succeed

  • 10+ years of professional lines insurance claims experience.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Strong organization and time management skills with an ability to prioritize and meet all deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead a claims team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to be able to efficiently and effectively manage team assigned caseloads.
  • A successful candidate will be a team player who can proactively identify trends and risks to assist management and underwriting in evaluating accounts and developing policy language.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Individual must have good written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical abilities and effective interpersonal and organizational skills.

For positions based in New York, NY, the base salary range is $175,000-$210,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
