Commercial Programming Systems, Inc. (CPS) is an Information Technology consulting and staffing company offering a broad range of services aimed at helping our clients deliver high-quality, cost-effective systems.

We are currently searching for a Sr. Data Engineer (Snowflake) to support our client for a 6-month project to support our State of California client. This is a remote position.

Target hourly pay rate is: $70.00 an hour

The Sr. Data Engineer (Snowflake) will establish a database model for data collection using the Data Vault 2.0 methodology. Using defined templates, develop a data pipeline that will read collected data in CSV format from AWS S3 storage for automated load into Snowflake tables and further curate the data into presentation layer for analytics needs.

Responsibilities:

• Design and model data from provided data dictionaries.
• Build data pipelines for quarterly data.
• Load data into Snowflake.
• Provide data quality checks and automated testing in development and production environment.
• Provide data validations of submitted data.
• Provide a development and production environment that meets staff defined use cases.
• Calculations such as uptime and other key metrics will be calculated, aggregated, and available in the presentation layer for consumption.
• Create Infomart views or Tables as a byproduct of the DBT SQL scripts.
• Automated ELT pipelines built per architecture and tested.
• Data tested in each layer and end-to-end to ensure consistency and completeness.
• Infomart views set up with appropriate access and permissions that meets staff defined use cases.
• Delivery of technical documentation for most current system; workflow diagrams, system infrastructure, and data collection diagrams.

Requirements:

• Minimum of five (4) years of relevant experience in authoring and monitoring data pipelines in Snowflake.
• This classification requires the possession of (a) a bachelor’s degree; however, the degree and be substituted with years of experience and certifications.
• Experience with program management tools such as Azure DevOps.
