We have an opening for a full-time, Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to join our talented, dynamic team.

As a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst , you will be on the front line in safeguarding Treasury Department digital assets and responding to potential cyber threats. You will play a critical role in monitoring, detecting, and triaging security events to ensure the protection of organizational assets. This entry-level position supports the Security Operations Center (SOC) by providing initial incident response, collaborating with senior analysts, and contributing to a proactive cybersecurity posture.

Duties

As a Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst, you will work on a SOC team responsible for monitoring security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS) and dashboards 24x7x365 to identify potential threats and anomalies. You will be responsible for performing initial triage of security alerts, classifying and escalating incidents to Tier 2 analysts based on severity and SLAs.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Assist in validating alerts to differentiate false positives from genuine threats, using basic investigative techniques.
  • Document incidents, actions, and findings in the ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow) per established SOP's .
  • Support incident response by following predefined playbooks and escalating critical issues to leadership.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of security documentation and knowledge bases.
  • Participate in training to enhance skills and stay current with emerging threats and tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity or related field or 4 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts (e.g., network protocols, malware, phishing).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, shift-based environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for documenting incidents and collaborating with teams.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving cybersecurity landscapes.
