  • Estimated Compensation: $100.00 - $111.06 per hour (negotiable).
  • Type of Employment: Full-Time, 40 hours a week.

  • Paid Time Off per Year: Up to 80 hours per year, occurring on day one.
  • Sick Leave per Year: Up to 56 hours per year, occurring on day one.

Summary of Duties

The Podiatrist is responsible for diagnosing and treating conditions related to the foot, ankle, and lower extremities. The Podiatrist will provide medical and surgical care, develop treatment plans, and educate patients on foot health and preventive care.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Must hold a current Podiatrist license in the state of New Mexico.
  • Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an accredited program.
  • Board certification from the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM) or the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS).
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation certified, in accordance with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients' foot and ankle health. Use diagnostic tools and clinical observations to identify conditions and injuries.
  • Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results. Provide both medical and surgical interventions as needed.
  • Medical Care: Treat conditions such as bunions, heel pain, ingrown toenails, and diabetic foot complications. Prescribe medications, orthotics, and physical therapy.
  • Surgical Care: Perform surgical procedures to correct foot and ankle deformities, remove tumors, and repair injuries. Ensure proper post-operative care and follow-up.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about foot health, preventive care, and proper footwear. Provide guidance on managing chronic conditions.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and primary care physicians, to coordinate patient care. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and surgical reports. Ensure compliance with all documentation standards.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures. Maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a safe and clean environment.
