The Department of State Hospitals-Napa is seeking to hire a full time Coordinator of Nursing Services (Nurse Administrator) position. This position functions under the direction of the Assistant Executive Director and will oversee all nursing operations within our state hospital.
The selected candidate will be responsible for directing and coordinating routine and emergency nursing services to approximately 1,100 patients; serving as the clinical nursing lead for 1,000 plus nursing staff to ensure quality patient care; develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies in alignment with best practices; ensure nursing practices comply with state and federal regulations and collaborate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams to accomplish the mission of DSH at the local and statewide level.
As a member of the Executive Team, the Nurse Administrator must work effectively with other team members to maintain the highest level of care while guiding the hospital in meeting strategic priorities. The Nurse Administrator participates on selected statewide committees, representing both nursing practice and the hospital Executive Team, and serves as Executive Director/Assistant Executive Director when needed.
This is a TAU appointment, and the selected candidate will be expected to pass the Coordinator of Nursing Services exam after hire. Upon successful completion of the exam, the candidate will then transition to permanent status.
