Responsibilities

Partnered with a facility in eastern Kentucky that has an opportunity for an Emergency Medicine physician to provide locum coverage.

About the Opportunity:

  • Schedule: 12-hour day, night, or weekend shifts

  • No call

  • Level IV Trauma

  • Annual Volume: 14,000 patients

  • Facility: 10 ED beds

  • Support Staff: 10-hour APP coverage

  • EMR: Meditech

  • Board certification required

  • Paid travel & expenses

Qualifications

  • Must be a board-certified Emergency Medicine with extensive experience in acute and emergency care

  • A compassionate, patient-focused approach is essential for providing top-notch call coverage

  • Familiarity with Locum Tenens work and a willingness to adapt to diverse clinical settings

  • Proven ability to manage busy, 24-hour shifts while remaining calm and efficient

  • Excellent communication skills to ensure smooth collaboration with local healthcare teams

  • A strong commitment to community health in the beautiful Bluegrass state

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)

  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

  • Active unencumbered MD or DO Kentucky state license

  • Graduate from a fully accredited MD or DO program

  • One year of work experience as an Emergency Medicine

  • One year of EMR experience

  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.

  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.

  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.

  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.

  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.

  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
