Job Description

Hospice RN Administrator / DON

The Hospice Administrator is responsible for the overall management and operation of the hospice organization. This critical role ensures the hospice provides high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care to patients and their families.This is a Duel Role for Hospice DON / Administrator until the census growth goal is reached to support split positions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hospice, including staffing, budgeting, and regulatory compliance
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to guide the hospice team
  • Manage the hospice's financial performance, including budgeting, billing, and cost control
  • Collaborate with the medical director and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of the hospice team, including nurses, social workers, and volunteers
  • Maintain positive relationships with referral sources, such as hospitals, nursing homes, and physician offices
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics to measure the hospice's effectiveness
  • Ensure the hospice complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards
  • Participate in Administrative On-Call Rotation
  • Be willing to Roll-Up your sleeves, put on scrubs and assist with admissions while growing.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold an unencumbered Registered Nurse License to practice in Georgia. Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field (master's degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the healthcare or hospice industry
  • Strong understanding of hospice philosophy, regulations, and best practices
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build, retain and lead a high-performing team and foster a professional and kind work environment
  • Proficient in financial management, including budgeting and cost control
  • Certification in Hospice (CHPN) Preferred
  • Must be growth minded and demonstrate strong leadership skills in Operations, Clinical / Regulatory Compliance, and Business Development
