Job Description

Position Title: Foundation & Campaign Director
Reports To: Telluride Medical Center Foundation Board

The Foundation & Campaign Director (the “Director”) staffs and oversees, together with the Telluride Medical Center (“TMC”) CEO, the Foundation Board Chair and the Foundation Board of Directors, the administration, and operations of the Telluride Medical Center Foundation (“TMCF”). The Director is responsible for the management of all aspects of a comprehensive development program, including all capital campaigns, as outlined below:

Principal Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive strategic fundraising program including campaigns, annual giving, and events, in accordance with TMCF’s strategic planning priorities
  • Lead day-to-day execution of the campaign including strategy, prospect management, and volunteer management
  • Create and manage development and campaign budgets, establish goals, strategies, and measurement tools
  • Assist the TMC CEO in strategic and operational planning as a member of the senior leadership team
  • Oversee all aspects of the management of the Foundation Board and Campaign Steering Committee, including recruitment, education and training, implementation of campaigns and board development initiatives
Portfolio Management
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations
  • In coordination with campaign volunteers, manages the portfolio of campaign prospects and oversees proposal development
  • Work closely with support groups (Telluride Women Give, Telluride Table, Golf Tournament, etc.) to facilitate fundraising opportunities
Communications and Cultivation
  • Play a key role in strengthening and maintaining public trust in TMC and TMCF. Given the scale and size of the campaign for the new facility, visibility, and history, this role requires:
    • Proactive communication
    • Transparency
    • Consistent engagement with donors, staff, and the broader community
    • Oversee all Foundation and campaign communications, including content development and distribution
    • Manages and attends engagement events and campaign cultivation efforts
    • Works collaboratively with Foundation leadership, Medical Center leadership, and key partners to ensure accurate and timely sharing of information, alignment across stakeholders, and a professional presence that maintains confidence and supports successful fundraising outcomes
Management
  • Oversee daily operations of the Foundation office including management of staff, policies, procedures, reporting, and stewardship
  • Maintains professional growth and participates in local professional and civic organizations as a representative of TMCF
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in one of: Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of demonstrated experience leading nonprofit or healthcare fundraising operations
  • Proven success managing major gifts and capital campaign strategies
  • Ability to design and execute multi-year campaign plans and donor pipelines
  • Strong leadership skills to oversee a small team and cross-functional partners
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with donors, volunteers, executives, and physicians
  • Experience managing a foundation board and campaign committees
  • Skilled in developing compelling cases for support and solicitation materials
  • Proficiency with fundraising databases, analytics, and prospect management systems
  • Ability to manage budgets, reporting, and campaign financial tracking
  • Persuasive communication and presentation skills for internal and external audiences
  • Experience navigating healthcare environments and physician engagement
  • Ability to balance operational oversight with high-level donor strategy
  • High integrity, discretion, and ability to manage confidential information

Salary range for the position is $165k - $225k, commensurate with experience.
