Entry-Level HVAC Service Technician

Lorain, OH

Raymond Plumbing & Heating is looking for an Entry-Level HVAC Service Technician to join our team in Lorain, Ohio! Since 1957, we’ve proudly served Lorain County with top-quality residential and commercial HVAC and plumbing services.

This role is perfect for recent graduates or individuals with technical training who want to start their HVAC career and gain hands-on experience.

Qualifications:

• Education : High School diploma or GED required; completion of HVAC training program, or hands-on training
• Experience : No prior field experience required if graduate from HVAC Training School; ability to perform basic preventative maintenance tasks is a plus
• Strong communication skills with customers and team members
• Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure
• Familiarity with hand tools and willingness to learn HVAC systems
• Other Requirements : Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass an MVR check, ability to travel locally 70%-90% of the time and positive attitude and eagerness to learn

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, including cleaning coils, checking filters, and inspecting components.
• Assist senior technicians with service calls and repairs
• Learn diagnostic techniques and repair procedures through on-the-job training
• Support installation and adjustment of thermostats and related components
• Assist in installations of a variety of heating and cooling equipment
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and company vehicle
• Complete required paperwork accurately and on time
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

In 1957, Wayne Raymond started Raymond Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning to provide quality service to his customers in Northeast Ohio. He knew the value of quality workmanship and saving people money. His tradition has been handed down to a second generation of Raymond family members who continue to bring home comfort to your community. Their oldest son, Keith, returned to Lorain and rejoined the family business in 1979. After his father’s death in 1986, and along with his siblings Shelly & Brian, they continued to grow the business. They carried on the values that were instilled in them. In January 2023, Raymond Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning changed hands with new owner Mike Sherrill, a longtime work associate of Raymond’s. Mike has continued to carry on the company’s legacy of hard work and quality workmanship. We continue to provide residential and commercial HVAC service along with top plumbing services to the surrounding communities of Lorain, Sandusky, and Cleveland.
