Job Description

The Northwest Arkansas region continues to grow at a fast pace. In effort to meet the sitework challenges currently faced, Precision Sitework is growing as well. To meet these demands, we are looking add two Superintendents to oversee sitework development on a mix of commercial and residential developments in the NWA region.

The project superintendent is director of work onsite per the schedule and as directed by the project manager. The superintendent coordinates daily work activities based on milestone achievements to be completed through the next two weeks. The superintendent is further responsible for confirming quality of work, compliance with plan and specification, inspection callouts, as well as maintaining inventory of materials onsite for the completion of the Work.

The ideal candidate for this position has a strong background in earthwork construction gained through progression of increasing responsibilities as an equipment operator, foreman and as a supervisor, with a minimum of five completed projects in a supervisory role. Extended knowledge of optical, laser and GPS based survey systems is also preferential to coordinate our fleet of machine control enabled equipment.

This position oversees all aspects of civil construction projects. A candidate will need an understanding of utilities, street paving and miscellaneous concrete and forming systems to effectively manage foremen led crews in the field.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and coordinate foreman and crew activities to achieve biweekly set production goals on typically 2-3 assigned projects.
  2. Confirm utility installations, encasement and backfill against city, plans and specification requirements.
  3. Confirm concrete formwork and rebar placement against city, plan and specification requirements.
  4. Confirm roadway base elevations with survey. Confirm specification requirements for asphaltic paving (depth, temperatures, tolerance).
  5. Identify and inform project management on plan issues that will impede completion of Work.
  6. Phone in 811 One Call for project sites prior to excavations. Maintain confirmations.
  7. Receive milestone material deliveries onsite. 
  8. Confirm quantities against material supply agreement and track backorder and/or unresolved quantities not shipped.
  9. Plan laydown areas, material placement and onsite construction traffic routes. 
  10. Document by note and photo of installations:
    1. Utilities – prior to backfill of hydrants, tees, manhole penetrations, fitting locations, and/or other conditions were encountered material is different from anticipated findings.
    2. Concrete – prior to concrete pour, forms, leave outs, rebar cages and subgrade conditions prior to pour.
    3. Earthwork – upon encountering subgrade strata too difficult to effectively excavate by normal means. Upon encountering ground water filling the excavation.
  11. Maintain BMP paperwork for storm water pollution compliance reporting.
  12. Schedule concrete and density testing with relevant authoritative personnel and/or labs.
  13. Review progress and schedule with Project Manager. Correct issues causing delay to onsite construction activities.
  14. Modify schedule sequence to accessible work. Promote progress on accessible areas following weather events, mitigate and manage dewatering operations.
  15. Serve as the first point of contact with Engineering and City Personnel.
  16. Direct personnel, equipment and operators to maintain an orderly site appearance
  17. Review and accept timecards daily by noon for the previous day.
  18. Enforce trash and debris pickup onsite.

Our work week is typically 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Although weekend work is possible, it is not common.
