The Communication Engineer is responsible for providing support to internal and remote users by installing, configuring, and upgrading telecommunication products. This includes troubleshooting telecom issues, managing helpdesk tickets, and maintaining documentation of the telephony infrastructure. The role involves working with various communication systems and ensuring they meet industry standards. This is a hybrid position requiring regular on-site reporting in Washington DC.

Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and upgrade telecommunication products.
- Serve as the first point of contact for telecom-related technical assistance.
- Monitor and maintain the voice network and report issues.
- Work with telecommunications partners on upgrades and patch management.
- Manage helpdesk tickets for telecom-related issues.
- Configure new hire user profiles for voicemail and display name changes.
- Update equipment inventory documentation.
- Maintain voice network cabling closets and cable location inventory.
- Perform technology refreshes and mobile device updates.
- Document work activities in the Zendesk system.
- Maintain inventories of all telecom assets.
- Participate in the development of telecom infrastructure documentation.
- Install and move assets as required.
- Provide technical direction and engineering knowledge for communications activities.
- Ensure adequate planning for building communications spaces and media pathways.
- Develop, operate, and maintain voice, wireless, video, and data communications systems.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- 1-5 years of experience developing, operating, and maintaining voice, wireless, video, and data communication systems.
- 1-5 years of experience providing direction for communications activities related to large communication networks.
- Proven experience with telecom system PBX/ACD/UIP.
- Good technical understanding of network, telecommunications, and mobile devices.
- Bachelor's degree in IT or related field or equivalent experience.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Proven experience in asset management in the areas of hardware and software.
- Proven experience with Call Center Environment.

- This is a hybrid position. Candidates must be willing to report on-site in Washington DC as required.
