About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief People Officer (CPO) to join their executive leadership team. The CPO will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive people strategy that is in line with the organization's strategic priorities and enhances overall performance. This includes leading all aspects of talent and culture, such as succession planning, leadership development, workforce planning, performance management, and change leadership. The successful candidate will also be tasked with building and aligning a high-performing HR team, ensuring HR is a proactive driver of business results, and fostering a culture of accountability and engagement. The CPO will work closely with the CEO, senior leadership, and the board to support the mission of the organization and will be expected to have a strong background in HR management, with a focus on the unique needs of a mission-driven, human services environment. Applicants for the CPO position at the company should have a BS/BA degree in HR or a related field, with an MBA or MA/MS preferred, and at least 8-10 years of HR management experience. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in leading high-performing HR teams, designing and implementing talent strategies, and managing change effectively. Essential skills include executive presence, expertise in leadership development, and a deep knowledge of employment law and HR compliance. The ideal candidate will have a certification such as SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP and experience in using HRIS and workforce analytics. The CPO will be expected to have excellent communication, conflict resolution, and stakeholder engagement skills, as well as a high level of emotional intelligence to build trust and credibility across the organization.
