CDL-A Local Truck Driver – Local – Chester NY $85,000–$100,000/Year

Pay Range: $0.68–$0.74 CPM (activity-based pay)
Estimated Annual Earnings: $85,000–$100,000 (W-2; not guaranteed)
Home Time: Daily
Schedule: 5-day workweek | 6th day voluntary (holiday exceptions apply)
Equipment: Automatic & manual day cabs | Slip-seat operation
Freight: Grocery delivery (reefer) | Mostly no-touch

Position Overview

We are hiring experienced CDL-A local truck drivers for a dedicated grocery delivery position based in Chester, NY . Drivers will operate within a 250-mile radius of Chester , making deliveries to supermarkets and distribution centers throughout the Hudson Valley, Long Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, and surrounding areas , with occasional backhauls into Pennsylvania.

This position offers daily home-time , strong pay, consistent freight, and newer equipment. NYC deliveries are limited and handled only after required training.

Pay & Compensation

• Mileage pay: $0.68–$0.74 CPM (based on experience)
• Average weekly miles: ~1,400
• Estimated annual earnings: $85,000–$100,000 (W-2; not guaranteed)

Additional Pay Includes:

• Stop pay (non-NYC): $28.50–$30 per stop
• NYC borough stop pay: $62.50 per stop
• Detention pay: $15 per hour (after 1 hour at stores, 2 hours at backhauls)
• Safety training pay: $20 per hour
• New hire training pay: $200 per day
• Holiday pay: $280 per day

Home Time & Schedule

• Daily home time
• Start times between 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Scheduled days off: Wednesday and Thursday
• 5-day workweek
• 6th day voluntary, but mandatory around major holidays

Equipment & Freight

• Automatic and manual day cab tractors
• 48’–53’ refrigerated trailers
• Slip-seat operation (drivers may share trucks across shifts)
• Mostly no-touch freight
• Driver assist may be required at some locations
• Pallet jack training provided
• Trucks cannot be taken home
• Uniforms provided and maintained

Operating Area

• Local deliveries within a 250-mile radius of Chester, NY
• Areas include:
  • Hudson Valley
  • Long Island
  • Connecticut
  • New Jersey
  • Limited NYC routes (approximately 20–25% of freight)
• New drivers will not run NYC until 6 months on the account and completion of required training

Driver Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL
• Minimum 3 months verifiable tractor-trailer experience
• Must meet DOT physical and safety requirements
• Must have reliable personal transportation to and from work
• Ability to assist with unloading if needed
• Willingness to work holidays when scheduled

Training & Orientation

• Paid training required
• Training pay: $200 per day
• Safety training paid at $20 per hour
• Orientation and reporting location:
  Chester, NY area
