Description:
The Assistant Project Manager works alongside the Project Manager to plan and execute a portfolio of ground mount solar projects across the US. They will work with the Project Manager and Operations Manager to ensure projects are completed in a safe and quality workmanlike manner and delivered on-time and on budget.
Main Responsibilities:
Logistics and project material management - submittals, quotes, PO's, invoice, delivery coordination and inventory management.
Procore - Manage project set up and perform daily reviews of field reports and forms
Accurate tracking and reporting of project progress
RFI management with engineers, clients and field team
Assist the Project Manager in overseeing and maintaining the projects Safety, Quality and Efficiency
Other Responsibilities: Pre-Construction
Study project documents including contract, scope of work, drawings, and specifications. Assess risks and constraints for the project.
Assist Project Manager with managing the projects from Preconstruction handoff to Final Completion.
Understand the local AHJ requirements and applicable permits.
Review drawings and perform product take offs to use for procurement.
Populate NESCO Project Tools to prepare for project kickoff (Procore Job creation, directory, budget/man hours/quantities, drawings, construction schedule, Project Matrix, Material Inventory Trackers).
Work with Operations Manager to ensure Procore JHA's and Inspections are project specific.
Work with Pre-Construction Manager to issue sub-agreements to subcontractors.
Procure quotes from vendors for infrastructure, equipment and testing.
Manage Subcontractor and Vendor Lien Waiver and COI's
Ensure Prevailing Wage and Apprenticeship compliance from subcontractors
Manage submittals process with Engineer of Record and Client engineering.
Issue Commitments to subcontractors and material vendors.
Draft project AIA billings form per contract schedule of values.
Maintain internal and external meeting minutes
Construction
Execute the tasks detailed in the Project Matrix. Update weekly for Team.
Work within contract requirements to provide deliverables to the Client. Conduct weekly project update calls with Clients. Take detailed notes and assign responsibility for open items.
Assist with weekly internal project calls with Field Team. Take detailed notes and assign responsibility for open items.
Oversee the project on NESCO Procore and Client preferred platform.
Assist Project Manager with monitoring QA/QC program and review project photos and inspection reports to ensure quality standards and contract specific requirements are maintained.
Manage course of construction RFI's.
Assist the PM on state of project to leadership in bi-weekly project Review meeting.
Draft client billings per contract structure.
Compile QAQC materials for handover. Review for compliance.
Attend closeout and commissioning project meetings
Project Closeout
Coordinate with Utility and Client for project defined dates of energization and testing.
Coordinate with Commissioning Team to schedule commissioning activities including energization and witness testing.
Assist with managing project specific closeout procedures and expectations.
Compile project handover documentation. Review for project specification for accuracy.
Coordinate with Operations Manager demobilization activities and logistics.
Requirements
Flexibility to travel from project to project for critical milestones. Expect one week a month minimum of travel
3+ years of field construction experience
Maintain a high level of leadership and respect amongst colleagues.
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Ability to read detailed drawings and install manuals and perform product take-off and calculations.
Possess necessary communication skills to professionally interface with management and clients.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Time management - Able to turn in paperwork in a timely manner.
Works well in a team setting.
Always maintain a professional appearance
Overtime required based on project needs.
Clean driving record and means of transportation.
Pass a drug screening.
