Job Title: Accounting Clerk
Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our client’s team in Knoxville, TN. This role will focus on supporting high-volume cash posting and payment application processes to ensure accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong attention to detail, and contribute to process improvements. This is an onsite, temp-to-hire opportunity offering stability and growth potential.
Compensation:
$21.00 – $23.00 per hour
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, normal business hours
Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Clerk:

Post daily cash receipts from multiple sources and apply payments to customer accounts.
Research and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, and overpayments.
Reconcile cash activity to bank statements and assist with month-end close.
Maintain accurate records and collaborate with internal teams to resolve payment issues.

Qualifications and Skills for the Accounting Clerk:

3–5+ years of experience in cash posting or payment processing.
Proficiency in Excel; multi-entity experience preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a high-volume setting.
Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred); Salesforce experience is a plus.
